Financing the Energy Efficiency Utility Budget
On August 2, 2006, the Board issued an
Order establishing new budgets for the
Energy Efficiency Utility ("EEU") for the years 2006, 2007, and 2008. In that
same Order, the Board stated that it would "conduct a process to determine the
range and feasibility of various ways to finance energy efficiency, through
means such as bonding or securitization, to mitigate the short-term rate impacts
of investing in energy efficiency." This page tracks the Board's process for
considering the possibility of financing the EEU budget.Schedule
- October 18, 2006 – Initial workshop and discussion of cash flow analyses
- November 2, 2006 – Participants to file written comments on policy issues
associated with considering financing the EEU budget. Comments should be
e-mailed to the participant list shown below, and one paper copy should be sent
to the Clerk of the Board.
- November 9, 2006, 9:30 a.m. - noon – Workshop on policy issues
associated with considering financing the EEU budget. The workshop will be held in the Board
Hearing Room, Third Floor, Chittenden Bank Building, 112 State Street,
Montpelier.
- November 17, 2006, 9:30 a.m. - noon – Workshop on implementation issues
associated with financing the EEU budget. The workshop will be held in the Board
Hearing Room, Third Floor, Chittenden Bank Building, 112 State Street,
Montpelier.
