Integrated Resource Planning

Vermont law requires all electric distribution utilities to prepare and implement integrated resource plans ("IRP"). According to 30 V.S.A. § 218c, an integrated resource plan is:

a comprehensive, long-term plan for meeting the public's need for energy services, after safety concerns are addressed, at the lowest present value life-cycle cost, including including environmental and economic costs, through a strategy combining investments and expenditures on energy supply, transmission and distribution capacity, transmission and distribution efficiency, and comprehensive energy efficiency programs.

February 12, 2007 Workshop

In response to a request from Central Vermont Public Service Corporation and Green Mountain Power Corporation, the Public Service Board held a workshop on February 12, 2007, to discuss multi-attribute analysis, which CVPS and GMP plan to include in their next IRPs.
