Pi Math Page
The concept of Pi, an irrational number, has been calculated and explored throughout history from biblical times to the present. The Chinese calculated Pi and their value was used for a thousand years. One mathematician calculated pi to 35 places and had it inscribed on his epitaph. With the advent of the computer, pi has been calculated to over six billion decimal places. Whether it is of historical significance, mathematical importance or a personal goal, pi has universal appeal. Join us in an adventure of exploring the concept of pi.

Manipula Math with Java

Math in Daily Life
When you buy a car, follow a recipe, or decorate your home, you're using math principles. People have been using these same principles for thousands—even millions—of years, across countries and continents. Whether you're sailing a boat off the coast of Japan or building a house in Peru, you're using math to get things done. Explore how math can help us in our daily lives. In this exhibit, you'll look at the language of numbers through common situations, such as playing games or cooking. Put your decision-making skills to the test by deciding whether buying or leasing a new car is right for you, and predict how much money you can save for your retirement by using an interest calculator.

MathGuide
The MathGuide, located at the Lower Saxony State- and University Library, Göttingen (Germany), is an internet-based subject gateway to scholarly relevant information in the Mathematics. Resources are described and evaluated with a set of metadata. New resources are continuously added to the database, already cataloged ones double-checked and updated.

Biographies of Women Mathematicians
Contains biographies of women in mathematics. It is an on-going project by students in mathematics classes at Agnes Scott College, in Atlanta, Georgia, to illustrate the numerous achievements of women in the field of mathematics. The goal is for this list to continue to expand, and for more biographies to be completed. At the moment there are not many biographies finished, but there are many brief comments on the women mathematicians and some photos.
