Test Day

What to expect when you arrive on test day

 

SAT I

Plan to arrive at the test center between 8:00 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.

Testing starts at about 8:30 a.m. and ends at about 12:30 p.m.

You will get a short break at the end of each hour of testing time.

You must work within each section of the SAT only for the time allotted. You are not permitted to go back to a section once that section has ended. Nor are you permitted to start the next section if you finish a section early.

The testing supervisor will guide you through the testing process and provide all the necessary instructions.

What to Bring to the Test Center

Your Admission Ticket

Two Number 2 pencils and a good eraser

Acceptable photo identification

An acceptable calculator (for SAT I and Math Subject Tests)

 Calculator Policy

 You may use almost any four-function, scientific, or graphing

 calculator on the SAT I and Math Level IC, and Math Level IIC Subject Tests.

You are not permitted to use:

Hand-held minicomputers or laptop computers

Electronic writing pads or pen-input devices

Pocket organizers (PDAs)

Calculators with QWERTY (typewriter-like) keypads

Calculators with paper tape

Calculators that "talk" or make unusual noises

Calculators that require an electrical outlet
