Summer Opportunities

Community Service- Community service is very important to getting into college. Colleges are looking at community a lot more than they used to when deciding who will get accepted to their college, and who will receive financial aid.

Exploration Week- Some schools offer programs where you can go to the college for the week and take the program that you are interested in. This is a great opportunity because you get to know the faculty and staff, and you can decide if you like the college and it’s programs. You can take the program, stay in the dorms, and eat your meals at the schools cafeteria.

College Visits- Most schools offer college visits during the summer. When you go to visit a college you can take a tour and eat lunch at the college. Not only do you get to see the campus but you will be able to talk the an admissions counselor and ask questions that you need to ask. This will help you decide if this college is right for you.
