These descriptions are detailed and include a brief overview, planning and implementation, alignment with state standards, lessons learned, sustainability plans, evaluation results and contacts for further information. Materials produced to support the practice (e.g., teacher and student guides, checklists, surveys, curriculum outlines, etc.) are also included. GOLD ZONE AWARD WINNERS are exemplary programs owing their success to the strong commitment of a local employer. During 1999 and 2000, regions awarded Silver Zone awards to their most engaged business partners; each region then submitted a nominee for a state level Gold Zone Award. Three Gold Zone Awards were granted each year by a panel of judges representing the state agencies involved in STW, a teacher and a student.
