Research and Development Tax Credit
- 32 V.S.A. § 5930ii

Purpose: The Federal R&D credit may be claimed against tax for certain qualified R&D expenditures, and combine the credit as one of the components of the general business credit. The R&D credit is a nonrefundable tax credit.

A Vermont taxpayer may be eligible for a credit on state taxes in an amount equal to 27 percent of the amount of the federal tax credit allowed in the taxable year for eligible R&D expenditures under 26 U.S.C. Section 41(a) and which are made within Vermont.
