Tax Expenditure Reports

 

Act 75 (2005) charged the Department of Taxes and Joint Fiscal Office to work cooperatively to prepare a biennial report on tax expenditures in the individual and corporate income, sales and
use, meals and rooms, and property taxes beginning January 15, 2009, with transitional reports due in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Act 207 (2006) added bank franchise and insurance premiums tax
expenditures to the report in 2009. The first two transitional tax expenditure reports on individual and corporate income taxes, and sales and use taxes were produced in 2006 and 2007.

The 2008 report updates the income tax and sales and use expenditures and also adds expenditure estimates for meals and rooms tax and property tax exemptions. Thereafter, the report will be produced biennially, beginning in January 2009, with updates for the tax expenditures listed above.
